‘Beyond my wildest dreams’: Sydney man wins $1 million jackpot

A Sydney man has revealed he won’t have to worry about paying off his mortgage after taking home the division one prize in last night’s Lotto draw.

The lucky winner, who hails from Sylvania in the Sutherland Shire, said the million-dollar news was “beyond his wildest dreams”.

The NSW man held the only division one winning entry in the Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4116, drawn Monday, September 27 – scoring $1 million.

Speaking with officials from The Lott this afternoon, the winning man could hardly contain his excitement at the news of his good fortune.

“Wow!” He laughed.“That’s unbelievable. That’s fantastic!”

“I need to sit down,” said the Sylvania man, who was struggling to come to terms with his millionaire status.

The man explained that he had been playing the same numbers for years in the hopes of winning – all of which were birthday numbers.

When asked how he planned to spend his windfall, the ecstatic winner didn’t hesitate to reveal his sensible plans.

“I’ve just put a deposit down on a house, but now I will be able to pay for it in full,” explained the man.

“It will be unbelievable to not have to pay for a mortgage. It’s beyond my wildest dreams.”

He said: “Maybe I’ll even be able to take a holiday once we get out of lockdown!”

The man’s winning entry was purchased at Southgate Newsagency, Shop 30, Southgate Shopping Centre, Sylvania.

The winning numbers in the Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4116 were 21, 4, 15, 24, 2 and 36, while the supplementary numbers were 3 and 18.

The latest lottery win brings The Lott’s division one winning tally to 340 so far this calendar year, including 100 won by NSW Lotteries customers.

Search for mystery millionaire in small Aussie town

The search continues for a mystery millionaire who purchased their winning lotto ticket from a Kyneton in rural Victoria.

The unknown player, who was one of five players to split the division one prize, is now $1,303,213.75 richer – but, there’s a good chance they’re unaware of their win.

The TattsLotto ticket for draw 4193 was purchased from Collins Authorised News & Lotto on Mollison Street and the ticket was unregistered, so officials from The Lott have been unable to track the winner down.

Anyone who purchased a ticket from Collins Authorised News & Lotto is being urged to check their tickets.

The winning numbers in Saturday’s draw were 33, 29, 36, 40, 6 and 28, while the supplementary numbers were 43 and 26.

“It’s likely this winner has been going about their day as normal with no idea they won $1 million over the weekend!” The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said.

“Make sure you check your ticket, which could be in your wallet, handbag, on the fridge door or in your car glove box, because the winner could be you,” added Ms Ramsamy.

“If you discover you are holding the winning ticket, contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”
