Man takes taxi across three countries on NYE - but refuses to pay the huge fare
Millions of people across the world welcomed 2018 with a sizable hangover after celebrating into the early hours of New Year's Day.
But one Norwegian man had more than a splitting headache to contend with after waking up to an 18,000 krone ($2843) taxi fare from a journey that stretched across three countries.
The reveller embarked on a mammoth 600km trip across Scandinavia that took him from Copenhagen, Denmark, to his home in Oslo, Norway, The Independent reported.
But as the taxi arrived at the man's home following the six-and-a-half hour journey that passed through Sweden, the passenger refused to cough up the fare.
Oslo Police took to Twitter to confirm the incident after the taxi driver reported the passenger.
“A drunk man got in a taxi in Copenhagen in 2017. He arrived at Abildsø in 2018. He left the taxi without paying," they wrote online.
