Rookie cop 'truly sorry' after lap dance on boss goes viral
A New York police officer who was filmed giving her boss a lap dance at a work party has issued an apology.
Vera Mekuli, 26, a rookie cop with the NYPD, made headlines when she was filmed giving 44th Precinct Lieutenant Nick McGarry a lap dance in a bar.
Ms Mekuli, wearing a mini-skirt and boots, was seen grinding and dancing on the smiling lieutenant in front of a crowd of people in the packed pub.
She told TMZ she had no idea he was married and has not returned to work or spoken with Lt McGarry since. Ms Mekuli offered an apology to the police officer’s wife and him.
“I am sorry. Truly I am and I really hope it didn’t cause too much damage in the marriage or in your personal life,” she told TMZ.
Ms Mekuli added the dance was “supposed to be for fun, for s**** and giggles”.

A police source told the New York Post, Lt McGarry also knows he “f***** up”.
“Messing with your subordinate is a no-no on the job,” the source told the publication.
The source added the lieutenant has been moved to another district.
