Mum and teen daughter rescued after 'being held captive' for years
A 47-year-old man has been arrested after a mum and her teenage daughter were rescued from the shack where they say they were held captive for three years.
The mother, 38, and daughter, 14, claim they have been held against their will since 2018.
The woman met the man on Facebook that year and had a brief relationship with him, but when she wanted to end it, he allegedly kidnapped her and her daughter, according to reports.

Neighbours in the Abasto neighbourhood of La Plata, Argentina, eventually complained to police about their concerns.
When authorities arrived at the scene they heard cries for help and discovered the mum and daughter in the shack.
The man was detained after being accused of “unlawful deprivation of liberty”.
A hearing took place on Tuesday, during which charges were expected to be filed against the man.
