Mum 'mortified' over son's hilarious toilet act in hardware store

Many parents have had their fair share of toilet disasters, but one mum still "can't quite believe" what she went through at her local hardware store.

Mum-of-three Caroline Akhtar, from southwest England, was shopping with her partner and their three kids, aged 4, 3, and 1, on Saturday when their son decided to use the toilet on display.

The family were picking up a new washing line at the time when suddenly disaster struck, and four-year-old Jacob found himself needing to do a "very big poo," Ms Akhtar revealed

"I turned around and J is sat on one of the toilets," she explained in a now-viral post on Facebook. "I ran to say get off but it was very much too late."

Not knowing what to do, the shocked mum ran to the car to grab wipes and a nappy bag, but on returning, the young boy was still perched on the loo because "he needed to finish", he told her.

"He was still on the toilet so I proceeded to help wipe his bum and explain that the toilets in shops are not actual toilets," she told UK media.

'Didn't know what to do'

At first, the shocked parents were "mortified" by their son's problematic stunt, but they were soon in fits of laughter after seeing the funny side.

Although it wasn't long before things got serious again for Mr Akhtar who was tasked with scooping out his son's excrement from inside the toilet bowl.

"Hubby didn't know what else to do," Ms Akhtar continued on Facebook. "The young shop assistant couldn’t stop laughing but also completely ignored the situation."

Jacob apparently told his mum that his younger sister Frankie said it was ok to use the toilet.

In photos shared online, she can be seen playing merrily alongside her big brother who was snapped while doing his business.

Social media erupts into laughter

The mum's Facebook post has since garnered thousands of likes and comments. It's also been shared over 37,000 times online.

Parents found themselves reacting to an all-too-relatable situation, with one even dubbing it "legendary."

"That is the best thing I’ve ever seen," commented one person.

"OMG, what a story this will make for when he’s older," said another.

Others applauded the parents and the boy for being well "toilet trained".

While others commended the brave dad's reaction, with one admitting: "I'd have walked out."
