Woolworths shopper finds live moth 'chilling' in closed spinach bag

A Woolworths customer has shared a video of a live moth flying around his bag of spinach.

The video was shared to the Woolworths Facebook page and the customer tagged a store in Queensland, presumably where he purchased the baby leaf spinach.

“Live moth chilling in bag of spinach from woolies,” the customer said.

In the video, the moth is seen flying around the bag, which appears to be unopened.

In response to the video, Woolworths responded on Facebook, thanking the customer for sharing the video and apologising.

“We're sorry you found a moth in your bag of baby spinach,” Woolworths said in the response.

“Please confirm with us the store of purchase, as well as the expiration date and batch number via private message.”

Woolworths said further information would be passed on to the quality control team.

However, Yahoo News Australia understands no further information has been passed on at this time.

“Please feel welcome to return this product to your local store to obtain a full refund or replacement,” Woolworths added.

“Thanks, we hope to hear from you again soon.”
