Watch: Shocking moment driver rams cyclist

A camera attached to a bicycle has captured shocking footage of an angry driver twice ramming into a cyclist.

On Sunday morning, the cyclist was riding in Olinda, in the Dandenong Ranges east of Melbourne.

The cyclist takes a right-hand turn off Mount Dandenong Tourist Road as a red car coming from the opposite direction makes a left turn and loudly honks its horn.

The cyclist stops and turns around to see the driver less than a metre behind him. The driver is stopped and revving the engine.

“You’re on film mate!” the cyclist yells at the driver.

The car then reverses slowly, only to race forward and ram the bicycle twice before driving off.

As the cyclist hobbles away, a female bystander can be heard saying, “You alright?”

The cyclist, named Sean H, posted the video to YouTube writing: “[t]he video speaks for itself. Some drivers don’t deserve to have a licence. I wonder what the Magistrate will do to his?”

“I’m extremely comfortable knowing I have done absolutely nothing wrong or unlawful,” the cyclist said.

“No doubt some clueless trolls who have no understanding of our laws will claim otherwise.”
