WATCH: Scuba diver exploring shipwreck startled by stealthy shark

A diver has revealed incredible footage of the moment she was startled by a huge shark while checking out a shipwreck of the east coast of the US.

Shelley Collett was scuba diving near the Aeolus wreck off the coast of North Carolina when she realised she was being watched.

Video shows Ms Collett looking at the wreck before turning to notice a big sand tiger shark staring at her.

The shark then swims away.

Ms Collett later told Storyful that she was not in any danger during the encounter captured on video, but the shark did startle her as he was “quite stealthy”.

In July, two fisherman enjoying waters south of Coffs Harbour were interrupted when they realised they were being circled by an enormous great white shark.

They filmed the ordeal too.

A researcher also nearly bit off more than he could chew in August when he filmed a great white leaping out of the water while trying to film the beast in waters of the US state of Massachusetts.

The video has more than 80,000 views with many in awe of the shark.
