'Never give up': Mum's powerful message after teenage son's suicide
WARNING, DISTRESSING CONTENT: Three teenagers have died in Perth of suspected suicides, with the youngest just 13.
On Wednesday, one mother broke down at her son's grave, with a confronting message for all families: never give up, because there is no second chance at life.
Debra Brumby's son Jimi McDowell was just 13 when he took his own life.
So was happy, kind-hearted Alexis, whose parents are desperate to understand why they lost her.
Debra Brumby says she is now on a mission to let people know there is hope, after the deaths of three teenagers in the space of two weeks.
"Because they don't need to do this," the devastated mother said.
"All he has done is left us in pieces. I miss him with all my heart, but if he's up there watching, he already knows and he already knows he made the biggest mistake."
Tragically, suicide is the biggest killer of Australians aged 15 to 24.
In WA alone in 2016, 54 people died - that's one young life lost every week.
"You don't get a do-over, guys," Debra said. "There is no second chance."
For the parents of Alexis, it came as a shock to know their daughter was being bullied.
Last week, an online bully called her "ugly." Now, distraught friends are paying tribute to her beautiful smile.

WA Health Minister Roger Cook said it was important for people feeling suicidal or depressed, or who are being bullied, to speak to someone they trust, whether it be a GP or someone at school.
One worried mother told 7 News her phone call for help went unanswered, but Jimi's mother says: "Never give up. If one call fails, try again."
"I don't want any other mum to feel like this, because it's too hard," she said.
If you feel like you need to speak to someone, trained counsellors are available 24/7 on the phone or online.
