Dramatic scenes as relatives of boy shot in face leave court

There were dramatic scenes outside a Queensland court after relatives of a boy who was shot in the face appeared on firearm charges.

The five-year-old was accidentally shot by a teenage cousin in January.

His grandfather and father faced Warwick Court on Wednesday charged with unlawful possession and failing to store a weapon properly.

As the family hastily left the court, one member of the group can be seen holding back a 7News journalist as she tries to speak with the father.

"He has nothing to say!" one woman shouts back as the father jumps in a car before it drives off.

The boy miraculously survived the shooting and has since recovered.

His family members will return to court in May.
