TattsLotto winner reveals what she spent her $100,000 prize on
Rachel De Oliveira revealed how she and her husband won the large sum as part of a syndicate – and how they had fun with it.
An Aussie mum has revealed what she spent her $100,000 division one lotto win on nine years after scoring the large sum — and some may be surprised. Rachel De Oliveira, from Melbourne, shared details about the “incredible” moment in recent video with followers on TikTok.
Rachel explained she and her husband were one of several punters who split the $10 million TattsLotto jackpot. “The prize was shared between 10 people, and of those 10 winners, one of them was a syndicate, which was the one that I was in,” she said while doing her makeup.
Because there were 10 people in her syndicate, the $1 million prize was divided once again, leaving each member with $100,000.
“It’s obviously incredible, and I was so grateful to have won,” she said of the cash, which she admitted wasn’t life-changing but did help the couple out a lot.
“Obviously I’m not complaining at all,” she joked.
Lotto winning couple bought golf cart, 'fixed' breasts
With the windfall, Rachel said her husband “treated himself” to a golf cart and a brand new set of golf clubs. As for her, the mum “got her breasts fixed” — undergoing surgery for a breast lift and implants. “After breastfeeding my two boys, they were left completely deflated,” she recalled.
With a holiday already booked that year, the rest of the prize — approximately $80,000 — went toward their hefty mortgage.
“Obviously we wanted to treat ourselves a little bit because how often do you win TattsLotto? And back then, you know, that was nearly nine years ago, we did have a big mortgage back then, so putting majority of it onto the mortgage was very beneficial and very smart,” she told viewers.
The mum said the windfall is “always an interesting story to tell” and noted other people are “always so curious” — a point proven by the more than 225,000 people who have now seen the clip.
Late last month, a 15-person NSW syndicate titled “Kingdom Cash” scored an incredible $13.3 million Oz Lotto prize. In that instance, each member received a whopping $890,000.
