Surprise lottery twist as couple score big AGAIN: 'Still have champagne from our last win'
The Sydneysiders won about $500,000 years ago, but have once again done the unbelievable.
An incredibly lucky couple who scored a whopping half a million dollars in the lottery a few years ago have done the unbelievable, and once again won big.
The man and woman from southwest Sydney have added another $100,000 to their bank account after winning the first prize in Monday’s Lucky Lotteries Super jackpot draw — and already have the party supplies to celebrate.
“I still have the bottle of champagnes from our last major lottery win! My wife won about half a million dollars years and years ago now,” the man said, adding he couldn’t wait to break the news to his spouse. “How incredible. We’ve been pretty fortunate with The Lott.”
The Sydneysider said the news had “made his day” and he hoped to use the influx of cash to help his son “with a house deposit so he can own a home”.
Lotto winner’s 15-year commitment finally pays off with $1.4 million jackpot
Aussie grandfather with 'very few problems' scoops $1.7m Lotto prize
The man’s entry of one winning number was purchased on The Lott’s website. Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, meaning there is a set number of tickets in each draw. Because each ticket number is unique, there is no sharing of prizes.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize has now reached $11.8 million for draw 1642, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is offering $8.43 million for draw 10825.
Aussie newsagent hailed as 'Mr Lucky'
Late last year, an Aussie dad who scooped a $1.7 million TattsLotto win became the 62nd person to buy a division one winning Lotto ticket from his local newsagent Melton Lotto & TSG.
After operating for 20 years, the business now averages over three top division wins per year. “It’s crazy – I’m stoked! I can’t believe we’ve sold yet another division one winning entry," owner Phong Thai said. “Many of my customers call me ‘Mr Lucky’ because of how many division one winning entries our outlet has sold."
