Aussie grandfather with 'very few problems' scoops $1.7m Lotto prize
The retiree from northeast Victoria plans to give most of the money to his family.
An Aussie grandfather has boasted it will be "business as usual" for him despite winning over $1.7 million in Saturday's TattsLotto.
The Wangaratta resident — situated in Victoria's north east — was delighted to learn he had become a millionaire overnight after holding one of six division one winning entries, but admitted it would make little difference to him personally. Instead, he plans on sharing his lottery earnings with his family.
"I've been retired for a little while and there's very few problems in my life, but any worries or stress have completely left my body now," he said. "I've got a couple of kids and grandchildren, and I can't wait to let them know. I'm going to change their lives!"
The man also admits the lottery win will force him to tackle odd jobs around his home that he has so far been avoiding.
"There are also a few things around the house that need to be done but I've been putting those off. Looks like I've got no excuse now!"
