Aussie trio claim $1.7m Lotto win just weeks into syndicate
The friends decided to start a syndicate after they became jealous of other winners' stories.
Three friends have shared a bonding moment many only dream of after the private syndicate they set up a mere five weeks ago scooped $1.7 million in Saturday's Lotto draw.
The trio from Grafton in NSW admitted their envy of other winners' stories had spurred them to start their own private syndicate before it became one of three division one entries in Saturday Lotto's draw 4413.
"I just thought, ‘If all these other people are winning, why can’t I?’," one of the winning trio said. "We don’t play every day or even every week by any means. We all just decide which games we’ll play together."
Married couple among the group who win 'life changing' amount
The group was made up of the man, his wife and their friend who are all "over the moon" with their total win of $1,748,759.74.
“We’ll be firing up the campervan and taking a holiday to celebrate. We’re not sure where we’re heading but who cares!" the married man said, sharing he has also been "dreaming" of buying a brand new car.
The trio bought their winning entry from Grafton Mall News, marking the newsagent's first division one winning ticket sold by the business. The other two division one winning tickets from Saturday's Lotto were based in Queensland and Victoria.
