Rats spotted running through Chemist Warehouse store: 'Shortage is over'
Just months ago Sydneysiders were desperately searching far and wide for RATs, but now shocking footage from a Sydney pharmacy shows an overflow of rats of the wrong kind.
In footage captured and posted to Instagram, rodents are seen running through the aisles of a Chemist Warehouse believed to be in Newtown in Sydney's inner west.
"Underground rat rave at the Newtown Chemist Warehouse last night," Instagram page newtown.affirmations captioned the clip, originally shared to the page by another user.
Appalled users recall seeing rats in the store before
Horrified users were quick to comment on the post, some reporting they had seen the rats for themselves in the store.
"I get all my meds from there @chemistwarehouseaus this is literally grim," one user said.
"I was in there the other night and could've SWORN I was seeing rats running around in my periphery," another added.
"My dog goes nutz near there so now I know why!" another said. "That's quite a family."
Others saw the lighter side of the situation, joking there was no longer a shortage of Rapid Antigen Tests for Covid, commonly referred to as RATs.
"Good to know the RAT shortage is over,' joked one user.
"Idk why I find this kinda cute, they’re just vibing squeaky little things," another said.

Some users blamed other establishments for the rat problem.
"It's no surprise if you see the state the businesses leave the back alley," one user said. "It's the rat's world we are just living in it".
It's not the first time rodents have been spotted inside a store. Last year a Woolworths shopper recorded a video of a rat running around the bread aisle of her local Melbourne store.
