Two lucky Aussies have an excuse to celebrate the weekend early, with Thursday night's Powerball officially making them multi-millionaires.
The major prize jackpotted to an eye-watering $120 million after six consecutive weeks of no major prize wins.
The new millionaires will split Australia’s second-biggest lottery draw ever – each taking home $63,309,056.98.
If you fancied yourself a winner you weren’t alone— half of all Australian adults were expected to have a ticket in Thursday night's draw.
"We’ve never had a $120 million Powerball draw before," The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said.
"If previous big jackpots are anything to go by, we can expect it to get busier and busier at lottery outlets and online leading up to tomorrow night’s draw."
To win Powerball, all seven numbers had to be matched, along with the Powerball.
The winning numbers for draw 1345 are 6, 15, 9, 27, 32, 28 and 33, with Powerball number 8.
No further details are known about the winners yet – and it’s possible even the new multi-millionaires are unaware of their good fortune.
Second biggest prize draw
Thursday's $120 million Powerball draw is second-biggest prize ever offered by an Australian lottery game, only surpassed by a $150 million Powerball draw held in September 2019, where three individuals shared the jackpot.
Last week, draw 1344 —which boasted a jackpot of $80 million —went untouched once again. However, 18 tickets split the division two prize, each scoring just over $73,000.
The winning numbers were 24, 7, 34, 22, 13, 30 and 6, with Powerball number 10.
Powerball's 'hot' and 'cold' numbers revealed
To win Powerball’s division one prize, players will need to have all seven winning numbers, which are drawn from the main barrel of 35 numbers, plus the Powerball (drawn from the Powerball barrel of 20 numbers) in a single game.
From the main barrel, the most frequently drawn, or "hot," winning numbers are 17, 7, 9, 11 and 25.
While the least frequently drawn, or "cold," winning numbers are 6, 31, 15 and 33.
For the separate Powerball barrel, the most frequently drawn Powerball number is 19, while the least frequently drawn Powerball number is 18.
