Oz Lotto winner scores $10 million, does the unthinkable

A young Queensland woman was shocked to discover she'd won $10 million in Tuesday’s Oz Lotto draw, but what she did next will be just as shocking to those who can only dream of being in her position.

The woman, from Sarina in North Queensland, held the only division one winning entry nationally in Oz Lotto draw 1461, drawn Tuesday, February 15.

When officials from The Lott called her to break the life-changing news, she was elated to learn she'd become a multi-millionaire overnight, then surprisingly revealed she was still heading into to work.

“I haven’t had a chance to look at my ticket yet. I’ve just been getting ready for work,” the woman told The Lott.

“Oh my god! Holy sh**! That’s amazing. We’re multi-millionaires!” the woman screamed.

The lucky winner explained that her partner, who was sitting beside her as they spoke, was “gobsmacked” by the news.

“This is a life-changing win for us. It’s come at the best time! We’ve had a tough few months, so this will help us so much,” she said.

“You dream of things like this happening, but you never imagine it actually happening.”

The ecstatic winner confessed she had always dreamed of winning the lottery and how she would spend her fortune if she won.

Surprisingly, they decided to hold off on their celebrations for a few hours, as they still planned to go into work.

“We have to go to work today. We don’t want to let our teams down, so I don’t think we’ll be able to call in sick, but we might do something nice tonight to celebrate,” she said.

Generous Oz Lotto winner plans to help parents retire early

The generous Oz Lotto winner admitted she planned to use her windfall to set up her parents for an early retirement.

“This really means everything for us. It means we can get our dream home, and I can help my parents retire, which is a dream come true!” she shared.

“It’ll help us live an amazing life. I’m not sure what we’ll do with the rest. We never expected to be multi-millionaires!”

The Sarina woman’s life-changing entry was purchased at Freechoice Sarina, where the owner Miranda Roberts said she was over the moon to hear a division one win went to a local customer.
