Police officers' 'wonderful act of kindness' for little girl
Two police officers are being praised over their “wonderful act of kindness” for a toddler.
The pair, both officers with the Wichita Police Department in the US state of Kansas, wrote on Facebook on Monday they met a “precious little girl” while out on a job last week.
“She was in her swimsuit and goggles playing in the dirt when Officer Cruz asked her why she wasn’t at the pool, she sadly told him it was closed,” one of the officers wrote.
The pair went to US pharmacy chain Walgreens and purchased the little girl an inflatable swimming pool along with some rubber ducks to play with.
“We brought them back to her and her face just lit up. One of the sweetest moments I’ve seen so far on the job,” the post said.
“I love how great all my fellow officers are and following in their leadership.”
Danielle Hutton, who claims to be the little girl’s aunt, responded to the post thanking the officers.
“My niece loves her little pool. Thanks again,” Ms Hutton wrote.
She included a picture of the girl in the pool.
The officers’ thoughtful act for the little girl had many praising them as “kind and caring”.
“That is what life's about. Kind gestures,” one woman wrote.
One man called them “the best kind of police”.
“What a wonderful act of kindness. Bless you both,” another woman wrote.
Last month, a police officer “saved the day” when he came to the aid of a little girl crying over her dead pet cat.
In January, a NSW Police officer helped a sheep beat the sweltering heat.
