Man charged with murder after woman found dead in Sydney unit
A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Penshurst on Monday.
Emergency services were called to a unit on Victoria Avenue, about 11am following a concern for welfare, NSW Police said.
Police attended and discovered the body of a 67-year-old woman and an injured 62-year-old man.
The pair are known to each other.
The man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to St George Hospital in a stable condition.
About 4pm, upon his release from hospital, the man was taken to Kogarah Police Station where he was charged with murder.
He was refused bail and will appear in Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday.
