Terrifying moment teens on scooter fly through the air during crash

Two 16-year-old boys were seriously injured in the Sydney crash.

WARNING - GRAPHIC CONTENT: The horrifying moment three people were sent flying through the air after their motorised scooter crashed into a car was captured by a witness's dash cam.

Investigations continue after three people, two confirmed to be 16-year-old males, allegedly drove a Honda scooter through a red light at the Glossop Street and Forrester Road intersection in St Marys in Sydney on September 16.

The motor vehicle crashed into a turning white Toyota Corolla and all three riders were hurled off before landing heavily on the road. Two teens were treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital in serious conditions, NSW Police told Yahoo News Australia.

The person who shared the footage to Dash Cam Owners Australia alleged that the scooter had gone though a red light, visible in the dash cam, and all riders were wearing face coverings with no helmets.

Serious injuries to two teenagers

Two teenagers were taken to Westmead Hospital, one with an injury to the leg and head and the other with an injury to his back. Both have now been discharged and are no longer in their care, Westmead Hospital told Yahoo.

The third person from the scooter was seen in the footage getting up, limping, and jumping onto the back of another scooter, appearing to then flee the scene. They have not presented to any hospital for their injuries, according to police.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla, a 27 year old female, left the incident without serious injury.

No arrests at this stage after horror crash

At this stage, officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are still looking in to the incident and to date no charges have been laid.

As inquiries continue police are urging anyone with information to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
