McDonald's brings back fan favourites and launches brand new burger

A cheesy twist on popular McDonald's flavours is coming to restaurants around Australia.

McDonald's is giving its Aussie menu an overhaul this winter by bringing back its popular cheesy range of burgers, and introducing its latest creation: the Cheesy Angus.

The Cheesy Angus completes the trilogy of Macca's burgers that include the Cheesy Chicken and Cheesy Beef – all of which feature a melting mozzarella patty that has been a big hit with cheese lovers in the past.

"Our winter menu is all about great tasting winter indulgence, and it doesn't get much better than a cheesy twist on Macca's iconic flavours," McDonald's Australia Senior Brand Manager Liz Whitbread said in a statement.

The fast-food giant says the cheesy burger range will be made available in Macca's restaurants across Australia from Wednesday 2 August for a limited time.

Like cheese with that?

The Cheesy Angus is described to be a burger with a juicy 100 per cent Australian Angus beef patty, rasher bacon, Aussie Jack cheese, tomato, lettuce, McChicken sauce and tomato chilli jam on a gourmet bun.

Returning favourites, the Cheesy Chicken and Cheesy Beef, will also feature Aussie Jack cheese, lettuce, McChicken sauce and tomato chilli jam on a soft bun, but will respectively contain a chicken and beef patty alongside the signature golden cheese patty.

More favourites return

Apart from the Cheesy burger range, Macca's has also announced the return of other fan-favourites, namely: the Raspberry & Custard Pie McFlurry, Raspberry & Custard Pie, and Mozzarella Sticks with Tomato Chilli Jam.

"Our last Cheesy range was a huge hit, so if the chilly season has kicked your cheese cravings into overdrive, make sure to head to your local Macca's before it's too late," Ms Whitbread said.
