McDonald's launches new menu item just for Aussies
McDonald's is serving up a new coffee drink especially for Aussie coffee aficionados – the Australiano.
Australia's answer to the Americano, the new signature coffee from McCafé is designed to treat Aussies to a flavour combination of native Australian wattleseed, chai and McCafe's locally roasted coffee beans.
Launching on May 25 for a limited time only, the Australiano can be served hot or iced – making it suitable for coffee drinkers across the nation.
"We are excited to give Aussie coffee lovers a brew they can proudly put their name to," said Lancy Huynh, Group Brand Manager at McDonald's Australia.
"Our expert baristas looked no further than our own backyard for a defining Aussie ingredient – native wattleseed – to create a deliciously unique coffee," she said.

Finally a coffee to call our own, says Macca's
"Despite being a nation of coffee connoisseurs, we don't have a coffee to call our own," lamented Lancy Huynh.
She added: "As a champion for Aussie coffee culture, McCafé wanted to right this wrong and craft a blend that Aussies can proudly put their name to."
First launched in the laneways of Melbourne back in 1993, McCafé currently serves up more than 300 million cups of barista-made coffee and hot drinks in a year.
In fact, a quarter of coffees sold in Australia every day are from a McCafé.
The Australiano will be available in all McCafé restaurants nationwide, via the MyMacca’s App and McDelivery from Wednesday May 25 for a limited time only.
