Man tries to lure schoolboy into car to see 'puppy'

A man has tried to lure a schoolboy into his car with the promise of seeing a ‘puppy’.

The boy, who is a primary school student, was approached by the stranger at about 8.40am on Wednesday morning at Curtin, Canberra.

The student declined the man’s request and went to school, where he reported the incident to staff.

According to ACT Police, the man is described as being Caucasian, between 30 and 40 years old, approximately 170cm tall and of slim build.

He was wearing a light grey tracksuit, T-shirt, black puffer-style vest and a black beanie.

The vehicle is described as a dark grey or silver sedan.

Police are urging parents and the school community to remind children of stranger danger.
