Lottery officials on hunt for $4.8 million winner: 'Check your tickets!'

A lottery player is set to receive $20,000 a month for 20 years after Wednesday’s draw, and doesn't even know it yet.

The whopping $4.8 million prize will go to a single division one winner of Set for Life draw 2379, which was drawn on Wednesday February 9, 2022.

The elusive winner purchased an unregistered ticket, meaning officials from The Lott have no way of contacting the individual to break the life-changing news.

The winning entry was purchased at Market Square Lotto in Geelong.

Representatives from The Lott are encouraging all Victorian players to check their tickets now.

The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said she couldn’t wait to unite Victoria’s latest division one winner with their prize.

“We’re urging all players who purchased a Set for Life ticket from Market Square Lotto to check their tickets today,” she said.

“Imagine how exciting it would be to realise you’ve just won Set for Life. Your plans for the next 20 years would certainly change with those extra digits in your bank account!"

“Make sure you check your ticket, which could be in your wallet, handbag, fridge door or car glove box. The winner could be you, and you could be planning what to do with your prize!

“If you discover you are holding the winning ticket, contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”

The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 2379 were 11, 26, 33, 7, 44, 8 and 28, with supplementaries 34 and 12.

The mysterious winning entry is the third Set for Life division one winner so far in 2022, as well as the second major lottery prize for the Geelong region this week.

Local business ‘over the moon’ with win

Market Square Lotto owner Greg Keating said he had his fingers crossed that the mystery winner would discover their prize soon.

“This is so exciting! We’re over the moon to have sold a division one winning entry in Set for Life,” he said.

“We can just imagine how much joy the prize will give to the mystery winner. They’ll be able to help their family and friends immensely.

“We encourage all of our customers who purchased an entry into last night’s Set for Life draw to come check their tickets with us.”
