A Kogarah man’s lucky numbers have paid off after delivering a life-changing $1 million Lotto win in the Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw.
The NSW winner held one of the two division one winning entries in the Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 4127 and scored $1 million.
Speaking with a lottery official from The Lott this morning, the Sydney resident explained the news still hadn’t sunk in for him.
“I honestly don’t know what to say. It hasn’t sunk in yet!” said the excited man.
“I was up all night after I checked the ticket. I couldn’t get to sleep. It’s unbelievable,” he added.
The Sydney man said he had been playing the same numbers for a decade in the hopes they would eventually pay off.
He said: “I’ve been playing for about 10 years and I always play the same numbers, my favourite numbers and they’ve certainly delivered for me.”
When asked how he planned to spend his windfall, the man explained he would use his winnings wisely.
“I’m going to put it towards a house, it will be a big help!” he explained.
The man’s winning entry was purchased at Icon News in Kogarah, where the owner Erbin Susinggih said he was thrilled for his local customer.
“It’s really nice to see this prize go to one of our locals,” said Mr Susinggih.
“We wish him all the very best and hope he really enjoys it!”
Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 4127 – one in New South Wales and the other in South Australia.
West Lakes couple blown away by $1 million Wednesday X Lotto win
The second winners were a couple from West Lakes in South Australia who said they were blown away when they discovered they’d won $1 million in last night’s X Lotto draw, with the woman literally falling over in shock.
The ecstatic winners held the second division one winning entry in the Monday and Wednesday X Lotto draw 4127 – also taking home a $1 million prize.
Speaking over the phone with an official from The Lott, the elated man laughed and said that he had been waiting by the phone to confirm their huge win.
“I found out late last night. I scanned my ticket on The Lott app. I couldn’t believe it!” he explained.
“My wife was in the kitchen, and I just looked at her and said: ‘Honey, I’m not sure if my phone is playing up, but I think we’ve won one million dollars!’” he said.
The husband explained that his wife actually fell over when she heard the news, breaking down into happy tears.
“I kept scratching my head about the whole thing! I couldn’t believe it! It really hasn’t hit me yet,” said the winner.
The lucky man said that when he woke up at three in the morning he wasn’t sure if he had dreamt it all, so he checked the ticket again and got excited all over again.
“It’s just magic! We are definitely going to celebrate tonight now we know it’s real.”
When asked how they planned to enjoy their jackpot, the couple quickly responded they would use it for an early retirement.
“We have been wanting to retire for so long, but we really haven’t been able to,” the man explained.
“I told my wife last night that she can be the one to retire straight away. She works so hard, and she deserves to relax as soon as possible. I’ll retire in a few years.”
