A lucky Queensland resident has scored over half a million dollars in an instant scratchie win.

The winner, a resident of North Lakes in Brisbane’s Moreton Bay area, paid just $10 for the Live the Life Instant Scratch-It ticket.

The top prize of $520,000 is set to be paid out in $1,000 instalments, which will be transferred into the winner's bank account every week for the next 10 years.

How the winner plans to enjoy the instant windfall remains a mystery, as he or she has chosen to remain anonymous and celebrate in private.

The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said that despite not knowing how the winner planned to use their newfound wealth, she was sure they were delighted by the instant win.

“What an excellent surprise for the winner!” she said.

“We have no doubt they will be smiling from ear to ear knowing their bank balance will receive a one thousand dollar payday every week for the next decade."

“Other winners have told us they use their windfall to upgrade their car, pay off their mortgage, or shout their family and friends to a great celebratory dinner," she said.

The Live the Life ticket was purchased at Paperboxx North Lakes, located within Westfield Northlakes.

Local business ‘ecstatic’ over win

Paperboxx North Lakes owner Mung Lam said that the entire team was over the moon upon learning of their customer’s win.

“Oh wow! How cool is that?” Mung said.

“We’ll definitely be celebrating this win in our store this week. We hope this is the beginning of many more!

“We’re so ecstatic for our winner. It’s such a fantastic prize, especially because it’s paid over 10 years.

“Congratulations to our winner. We hope they enjoy their prize for years to come.”
