Four children and woman rushed to hospital during power outage
A woman and four children have been taken to hospital with suspected carbon monoxide poisoning after running a generator inside their southwest Sydney home.
Five crews attended the address in Georges Hall just before 8am this morning after members of the family were reported to be exhibiting signs of carbon monoxide poisoning.
NSW paramedics found the woman and four children suffering with nausea, lethargy, and light headedness.
“There are significant dangers when it comes to these sort of jobs – where not only the patients, but emergency services can also become exposed,” NSW Ambulance Special Operations Paramedic Marcus Hunziker told Yahoo News Australia.

All five were taken to Liverpool hospital in a stable condition and will require ongoing oxygen treatment.
Nine News reported the family had been using a generator inside the home for around 45 minutes after they lost power in the recent Sydney storms.
The family are expected to make a full recovery but Mr Hunziker warned carbon monoxide poisoning can lead to dire consequences.
“While the symptoms can be similar to a cold – it has the potential to be deadly if exposure is left too long,” Mr Hunziker said.
