Brisbane woman unpacking groceries walks past snake 'four or five times' without realising
It's no secret that snakes have been on the move recently giving many Queenslanders a fright as they uncover unwelcome, slippery guests in strange places.
One Brisbane resident had been unloading groceries from her car before realising this particular visitor was watching from above, curled up right at an entryway to the Ashgrove home.
It can be seen in images posted to the Snake Catchers Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan & Gold Coast Facebook page coiled around a light fitting just inches away from a doorway.
Licensed snake catcher Lana Field told Yahoo7 that the lady had made four or five trips in and out of the home with her shopping, before she realised there was a python which had been observing her unpacking the car.
Ms Field said this snake may have come down off the guttering and could have been figuring out where to go next.
She said if residents find themselves in a similar position, give the reptiles the space they deserve, and if a homeowner wants one relocated call a licensed snake catcher.
"Everyone is safe when they leave the snake alone," Ms Field said.
Ms Field said with the cooler, wetter weather the snakes aren't travelling quite as much but when it heats back up they will be back out again.
