WARNING - GRAPHIC IMAGES: An Aussie man’s family have rushed to be by his side after the tourist suffered horrendous injuries in a “serious motorbike accident” while on holiday in Bali.

Jacob Villablanca, from Terrigal, NSW “was found unconscious and transported to a hospital in Bali” earlier this week, with his loved ones now desperate to bring him home on a $68,000 “SOS retrieval flight”.

He is now conscious but has significant lower limb damage, and some bleeding on the brain,” friend Aimee Kostrubic wrote on a GoFundMe page she created to help with the young man’s medical bills. “Jacob has been advised to return to Australia ASAP to receive the medical help and surgery he desperately requires.”

Jacob’s mum and sister Grace Villablanca have flown to the popular destination to be with him. On Thursday, Grace posted a graphic photo on Facebook of her brother’s horrific leg injuries, with his muscle and bone visible, and skin hanging from one of his shins.

Family's plea for SOS flight

Due to the significant extent of his injuries, Jacob requires an SOS retrieval flight, costing an estimated $68,000, Aimee said. “He will require emergency surgery in WA before coming home,” she explained, adding that his “family are extremely distressed”.

Jacob’s sister said online his insurance company would not approve a flight for another four days, but that is “too long”, describing the incident as a parent’s worst nightmare.

“This GoFundMe has been set up to assist the Villablanca family during this very difficult time, getting Jacob home safely and receiving the medical attention he needs urgently,” Aimee said.

“If you are able to help the family in anyway, it would be greatly appreciated! Every bit helps and the Villablanca family are so thankful.”

Earlier this month, a picturesque trip to Bali took a literal dark turn for one Kiwi tourist after he fell down a hole in the ground, leaving him with broken ribs and covered in questionable dirt from the sewage drain.
