Indigenous prisoner found dead in Darwin prison cell

A prisoner has died in Darwin prison, the Northern Territory's Corrections department has confirmed.

The 31 year old Aboriginal man was found dead in his cell at about 6.30am on Thursday, a spokesman for the department said.

Attempts by staff at the Darwin Correctional Centre to revive the man were unsuccessful.
