Indian teen accidentally shoots himself in the head while 'posing for selfie'

While taking a selfie has certainly become a popular pastime another person has lost their life for the perfect shot, this time an Indian teenager who died after accidentally shooting himself.

Ramandeep Singh, 15, was posing for the picture with a .32 caliber pistol belonging to his father, according to CNN.

It's claimed the teen was trying to take a selfie with his sister when he accidentally shot himself in the head on Friday night.

He reportedly died on Sunday, according to the Huffington Post.

Authorities believe the gun's safety catch wasn't on when he accidentally pulled the trigger.

India tops the list when it comes to selfie-related deaths, with about half of the incidents last year being reported in the country, according to the Washington Post.

CNN reports that due to the prevalence of the accidents relating to selfies, 'no-selfie' zones have been established around Mumbai to prevent people from accidentally injuring themselves.
