Wrong man charged over public toilet rape of 10-year-old girl

A man has been charged with the rape of a 10-year-old Adelaide girl after police had originally charged the wrong man.

Police on Thursday night charged a 32-year-old northern suburbs man with two counts of rape, aggravated indecent assault, gross indecency and unlawful detention.

He was refused police bail and is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Police had originally charged a 29-year-old man with the attack at a park in the Adelaide suburb of Blair Athol two weeks ago.

Forensic evidence later cleared him of direct involvement in the attack, and police withdrew charges and released him before a scheduled court appearance.
