'It's absolutely enormous': Man films 'gigantic' mystery cat roaming in a field
A man has left Facebook users baffled after sharing a video of a huge cat sauntering through a field near a restaurant.
David Sluder filmed the video when he was out picking up some food at a Mississippi Wendy's on Wednesday and said this "cat" walked out of the woods casually.
"That is an absolutely enormous something over there," a voice in the video says.
"I mean, it's a cat but this thing is gigantic"
Mr Sluder was about 90 metres away when he captured the footage of the animal on his mobile phone.
He wrote on Facebook, "It is a little hard to see but I can assure you this is not a house cat. It looks to be the same size as a medium to large dog."
A number of Wendy's employees were shocked when they spotted the creature
"I thought it was like a mountain lion," Wendy's staff member Crystal Gutierrez told told WMC Action News 5.
Local residents have been warned by wildlife experts to steer clear of the creature if it is spotted again.
"I want to see it caught because I've got to come here every morning, and I don't want it to meet me at my car," Wendy's employee Schronda Scott said.
According to WMC Action News 5 biologists said it is hard to say what the animal is without catching it, but there is a possibility it could be a mountain lion, cougar or black panther.
They added that panthers have not been recorded in the state in more than a century, but they have been seen in other areas, including Arkansas and Missouri.
The video has been shared close to 4,000 times and has received more than 204,000 views in less than a day.
