'This is beautiful': Dad and son's touching tradition caught on camera

An online post about a touching family tradition, which is shown in then and now images, has touched hearts around the world.

Charles Brockman III tweeted two images which show his father, Charles Brockman Jr, walking him to his first day of kindergarten and then moving into college at Mississippi State.

The pictures appear side by side in the heartwarming tribute from the now 17-year-old, which reads, "From the first day of kindergarten to college move in. Thank you dad."

Many people have praised the Texas family's traditon, which reportedly saw the parents accompany their son to school at the beginning of each year.

Both pictures were taken by Charles III's mother.

The tweet was posted on August 13 and in just a few short days it has received more than 270,000 likes and has been retweeted more than 70,000 times.

One Twitter user wrote: "This photo brought tears to my eyes. How wonderful to get a glimpse of such love and devotion in a world gone mad. Thank you for sharing! <3"

Another said: "This is beautiful. He must be so proud of you. Best of luck to you at college. Work hard, good man."

Online reports state that during high school Charles Brockman III's father was also his personal track coach.

“Sometimes fathers don’t get enough credit so I just had to pay it forward to him and thank him for all the years he’s been there for me,” Charles Brockman III told the TODAY show in the US.

According to Fox 5 Charles' father was giving him life advice while they made their way down the college hallway, where he will studying broadcast journalism and communications and running track.

Both Charles III's mother and father replied to posts about the images in the twitter feed, with his mother saying: " I am SUPER proud of both of these men in my life!!! It is wonderful to have some real positivity in this world!!!!"

While the family support depicted in the tweet was widely acknowleged, many also priased dad's physique and hair..

One tweet read: "I see pop ain't gain gone one pound. I'm trying keep it together like that"

Charles Brockman III told People Magazine, “He started growing dreads when I was born, and maybe a few years ago he was talking about cutting them.

“Then he said he would wait until I graduated high school, but I’m sure he’s going to keep him as long as he can—at least I hope he does, they’re pretty cool!”

While the teen and his family were not expecting such an overwhelming response from the post, the teen hopes it helps spread the message to value time spent with family and don't take your parents for granted.
