Daredevil stunts gone wrong

Extreme and outlandish stunts can often cause us to peer through our fingers in anticipation of something going horribly wrong.

Stunts can often be dangerous, life-threatening and many require an abundance of training and preparation to perform safely.

Even then, many dangerous stunts, even when executed by the most skilled and highly trained professional, can go wrong.

Here are some stunts that just didn't go to plan. A warning do not try any of these at home!

When a stunt nosedives

A diver's worst nightmare came true at the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series recently.

American Steven LoBue smashed his head on the diving board while attempting a back triple somersault with four twists from 27.5 metres high.

Despite the mishap, LoBue managed to land feet first in the water as intended.

Daring crocodile trick - what could possibly go wrong?
This terrifying moment was captured on camera when a crocodile clamped its jaws around its trainer's head in a stunt that went horribly wrong in Thailand.

Performer cuts the air with a knife

This is almost certainly a watch-through-your-fingers moment when a knife-thrower gets it badly wrong during a live street performance.

When fire breathing fuels disaster
If you've always associated fire breathing with unnecessary danger, then this performer just proved your point.

Trash the dress stunt sinks
This is proof that no amateur should ever attempt a potentially dangerous stunt, or worse, film it!

Newly weds Amy and Eric Zuno jumped in the water from a boat following their wedding for what was supposed to be a trash the dress video.

Things suddenly went desperately wrong as the bride was pulled under by the weight of her water soaked gown.
