'Hot prisoner' lands modelling contract
When Jeremy Meeks was first arrested in California he made international headlines, but not for the reason you would think.
It was not his crime but his mugshot, showing his defined cheekbones, chiseled jaw and piercing blue eyes that put him in the spotlight.
That now infamous photo has landed Meeks a modeling contract.
The 30-year-old, who was sentenced to more than two years in jail for firearm possession has been snapped up by White Cross Management and will reportedly hit the runway after he is released from prison.
In an interview with America’s ABC news, Meeks said he was grateful for the opportunity.
“I never thought that everyone in the world would recognise me for my looks, so I feel extremely blessed and very thankful,” he said.
“I'm in a place where I will be able to provide for my family and really change my life.”
Meeks is hoping for an early release in November.
