Man risks life by drinking bottle of whiskey in 13 seconds

A Welsh man who was filmed risking his life by drinking a full 40 per cent alcohol bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey in just 13 seconds has called the viral stunt "stupid".

Will Williams, 27, posted the video on YouTube on August 31, and it has since amassed more than 916,000 views and nearly 1000 comments.

The footage shows Mr Williams near a highway, using his mouth to break the seal of the 700ml bottle in front of a group of friends before placing a straw in it.

His friends are heard laughing as Mr Williams tilts his head back to drink the entire contents in one go, with one friend calling him an "animal".

Once Mr Williams finishes the whiskey, he jokes "Neknominate that", in reference to controversial drinking game, which hit social media earlier this year.

The Daily Post reported that Mr Williams has since expresses his disappointment over the stunt.

"It was something that I did jokingly and regret deeply," Mr Williams said. "Straight away, I knew it was a stupid thing to have done.

"I was on a stag-do at the time, one thing led to another and things got out of hand.

"I wasn’t dared and I wouldn’t want anybody to do the same thing after seeing me do it.

"It was a dangerous thing to do, I know that now and I’d never do it again.

"After I finished, I jokingly said 'necknominate that' but I absolutely didn't mean it and didn’t nominate anybody.

"When I posted the video, I only expected friends to view it really.

"I didn’t realise that it would go UK wide and eventually world-wide, I’ve had messages from people all over the world since."

Since posting the footage, it has attracted a range of comments both in support and outraged by the stunt.

There has even been concern about the man's health following the incident.

"Isn't that like.... dangerous? Where you can die if you chug one bottle of hard liquor?" one person commented.

M.P O'Mara commented: "This fool will be dead soon."

A 700ml bottle of Jack Daniels contains 22 standard drinks.

It is recommended men in Australia drink no more than four standard drinks on an average day and no more than six standard drinks on any one day.

It is also recommended to have one or two alcohol-free days per week.

The NHS recommends men should not regularly drink more than 3-4 units of alcohol a day.
