Woolworths cashier stuns busy mum with kind act: 'So grateful'

A Woolworths customer has given the supermarket a rave review after a team member went to great lengths to help her in a time of need.

The Victorian mum took to the Woolworths Facebook page to praise a cashier named Wendy at the Golden Square store in Bendigo.

The woman had been grappling with a full trolley, a toddler and a hungry baby when Wendy came along unprompted to help her finish her shop and pack her groceries.

“When you're shopping with a 2.5 year old and an 8 week old, your trolley is full and the lines are long,” the woman wrote.

“Wendy, having closed her checkout came over and helped me unpack it, repacked the bags in, wheeled it down to my car and packed my car while I fed bub.”

Woolworths staffer sets 'wonderful example'

The young mother said that Wendy even went as far as settling her toddler in the car and ensured he had a snack to keep him happy.

“What could have been a difficult ending to the shop became a wonderful example of kindness and caring. I was so grateful to her as it ensured our day went far more smoothly than it could have,” she wrote.

A Woolworths representative commented on the woman’s post, and requested more details so that Wendy could be recognised for her efforts.

“Thanks for sharing this! It's wonderful to hear such great feedback about Wendy! We appreciate you for reaching out,” the representative wrote.

Woolworths doubles down on ‘above and beyond’ service

Another Woolworths customer has personally thanked a team member on the Woolworths Facebook page, after a cancelled order prompted a kind gesture.

The customer recognised a staffer named Sam from the Malvern Central Woolworths just outside of Melbourne.

“He went above and beyond today when my online order was cancelled due to not enough available drivers,” the customer said.

“Thank you Sam, your kindness is very much appreciated.”

Again, a Woolworths representative reached out for more information in order to recognise the employee.

“We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and we'd like to share your great feedback,” the representative said.
