Woman seriously injured after pet dog turns on her

A woman has been rushed to hospital after being mauled by her pet dog in Adelaide’s north.

Paramedics were called to International Avenue in Salisbury North where they found a 55-year-old woman with “severe bite wounds” to her arm and head.

A spokesperson for SA Ambulance said she was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

She is currently in a serious condition, a spokesperson for SA Health told Yahoo7 News.

Salisbury Council officers removed the bullmastiff from the property. It’s not yet known if it will be destroyed.

The attack comes after a four-year-old boy was mauled by his neighbour’s American Bulldog in Quakers Hill, 40 kilometres west of Sydney, on Sunday about 1pm.

The boy was taken to The Children’s Hospital in Westmead for treatment after the dog latched onto his neck and shoulder.
