Woman reveals McDonald's hack that will keep your fries hot
A TikToker has gone viral after revealing a McDonald's hack that keeps your leftover fries warm and it's easier than you may think.
TikTok has always been a fantastic source for McDonald's fans to discover secret menu items, behind the scenes footage and customer stories, but this life hack has captured the attention of millions.
Finnish TikToker @differentmotherhood posted the video to the social media platform last month and it has since garnered more than 4 million views, 359,000 likes, 7500 comments, and 12,500 shares since then.
Surprising McDonald's 'life hack' discovered by customer
The 11 second TikTok shows @differentmotherhood manipulating a red fries packet, revealing her "life hack” that keeps leftover fries from going cold, and stops them spilling in the takeaway bag.
“Life hack I learned today. Did you know this?” she writes over the footage in her post.
The video, which appears to be filmed in a food court, shows a McDonald's tray with an empty burger box, and an open sauce packet in the background.
The TikToker holds a half empty pack of fries in the foreground.
As the video goes on, it is revealed that the taller side of the fries packet is able to be folded over the shorter site and can be fastened firmly into place, forming a makeshift lid atop your leftovers.
McDonalds hack causes a stir on TikTok
The TikTok has earned a mixed reaction from viewers.
“I work at Macca's and I didn’t even know that hack existed lolllll,” wrote one user.
“I knew the MD cup had something like that hidden,” commented another.
"Cold McDonald's fries are the worst!" another person wrote.
Many were grateful for the new information, with one person saying: "I need this so bad, thanks".
However, some were not as impressed with the move.
“Who doesn’t eat all the chips in about 30 seconds though?” one person said.
Another wrote sarcastically: “Life hack - just eat it”.
Several people criticised the hack saying it would make the fries soggy and that it wouldn't keep them hot, it would just stop them from falling out.
Additionally, other users have simply commented: “Yes” in response to @differentmotherhood’s question “did you know this?”.
Video gets thousands of views per day
The video is earning thousands of views per day and since going viral, the video has earned the influencer, who doesn’t reveal her name, over 3000 new followers.
She posted the same life hack to her Instagram, where she goes by sussu_85, and received just over 1700 views - a testament to the power of TikTok.
The 36-year-old began posting videos in early 2020 on motherhood, current events and comedy.
She does regular TikTok Lives, and is highly active in responding to comments.
Another popular video on her channel is a life hack where she coaches viewers on how to peel garlic.
