Woman mocked online after complaining about her burnt food

Kylie Jarman was craving a shepherd's pie on Tuesday, so she bought one from her local supermarket, Sainsbury’s and started to cook it in the microwave.

When the timer went off, the UK woman was shocked to discover that her pie was burnt to a crisp and she took to social media to vent about the charred remains of her dinner, blaming the instructions on the pack.

“Don’t buy cottage pie from Sainsbury’s as this is what happens when you put it in the microwave for 45 minutes,” Ms Jarman posted on her Facebook.

It didn’t take long for internet users to point out that Ms Jarman had placed the pie into the microwave for a lot longer than the instructions advised.

“45 minutes in the microwave? I’m surprised it’s not radioactive!” one person posted.

“I’m no cooking expert but 45 minutes in the oven? yes, not the microwave,” another user wrote.

At the time of publication there were over 200 comments from people pointing out the obvious mistake to Ms Jarman, and most of them thought it was hilarious.

“People like you are the reason we have instructions on shampoo,” one person wrote.

“That poor cottage pie,” someone added.

Ms Jarman’s attempt to cook a tasty meal was appreciated by some sympathetic people though.

“I feel so much better about my cooking skills now,” one woman said.
