Social media is on the hunt for a mystery woman who was seen handing out cold drinks to truckies stuck in a roadblock in Perth’s north due to a bushfire raging through the region.
“True Aussie spirit lives!” the post read, along with photos of the woman handing out cans of soft drink from her 4WD in Perth’s north.
Motorists found themselves at a standstill on the Great Northern Highway in Bullsbrook on Thursday as a bushfire burned nearby and temperatures soared to 40C.
Even in the sweltering conditions, the unidentified woman stood by the road and graciously handed out much needed drinks.
The kind gesture was a hit with truck drivers who have described the woman as a “hero”.
“If anyone knows this lady... please tell her she has hit hero status with the truckies,” the post read.
Social media erupted with praise for the woman, the social media post has since been shared close to 2,500 times on Facebook.
“Champion! I’m sure she was cooking herself while being more concerned about the truck drivers,” a person responded.
Many people acknowledged that small gestures can make a big impact.
“We need more people like her, a simple act of kindness goes a long way,” one person wrote.
“It’s people like you that make the world a better place,” another added.
One person said they hope karma comes into play for the woman.
“What a champ - what goes around comes around. Hope you get help if it's ever needed lady,” they wrote.
Although users on social media are still left wondering who the unidentified woman is, they all agreed, she is a true hero.
“Not all hero's wear capes, sometimes they drive land cruisers.”
