'What's going on?' Facebook chaos as Messenger app crashes worldwide
Facebook Messenger has crashed, with users around the world complaining they are unable to login or send messages.
The app, which is used by more than 1.2 billion people, is delivering an error message – while Aussie Outages has received more than 140 reports of Australian users being unable to connect to the app, adding to a further 2,500 worldwide.
Social media users in South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland are among those seeking answers.
“Tried logging in via three different computers and 4 different browsers all with the same result,” one Facebook user wrote.
“No go in Adelaide either,” another wrote.
The outage comes one day after the social media juggernaut launched a new feature, allowing users to delete messages on Messenger after sending them.
After more than one hour of outages, some Australian users reported that they had regained access to the messaging service.
Facebook messenger is down; children are crying, men and women are screaming; for we have to socialize with family members instead.
