West Ham forward Michail Antonio laughs off idea Zinedine Zidane will move to Tottenham

West Ham forward Michail Antonio says there is “no chance” Tottenham will appoint Zinedine Zidane.

Spurs finally confirmed the departure of Antonio Conte on Sunday night and have installed Cristian Stellini as their interim manager for the final ten games of the Premier League campaign.

Standard Sport understands former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann is of interest to Spurs, along with the out-of-work Mauricio Pochettino and Luis Enrique.

Zidane, who has been without a club since leaving Real Madrid for the second time in 2021, has also been linked with the post.

The Frenchman won three Champions League titles during a trophy-laden first stint in charge of the Madrid giants and had also been touted as a potential replacement for France boss Didier Deschamps after the World Cup.

Chairman Daniel Levy has previously shown a willingness to target elite-level managers, replacing Pochettino with Jose Mourinho before appointing Conte in November 2021.

While Zidane is not thought to be a leading candidate, Hammers forward Antonio gave short shrift to the idea of seeing him move to London rivals Spurs.

He told The Footballers’ Football Podcast on BBC Sounds: “Zidane won’t go to Spurs! That isn’t going to happen.
