'Wedding horror story': Hilarious decorating fail on couple's cake

One couple’s special day will certainly be one to remember - but not for the reasons they might hope.

In an effort to save on costs, the pair ordered their cake from a supermarket instead of a cake maker, with the end result now going viral because of a hilarious mistake in the message iced on top.

A wedding planner posted the photo of their client’s cake to Facebook, saying: “This is why you hire professionals. This will be their wedding horror story for sure.”

The cake was supposed to say ‘Wiser wedding’ - presumably their last name - but instead the bright green font reads: “Why’s there a wedding?”

While the couple tying the knot were probably unimpressed with the cake, many social media users found it highly entertaining.

“That takes the cake,” one person wrote on Reddit.

“Honestly, I think I'd find this just hilarious and get tonnes of photos with it and show it off to everyone!” another said.

“As a person who works in a grocery store bakery.... I've seen some things. It’s real weird what people will want for their weddings on the cheap,” a third user wrote.

One person pointed out that the cake is perfect for the pandemic.

“In these Covid times it actually applies quite well,” they wrote.

It’s not the first time a cake fail has gone viral.

Last year, a volunteer at a charity requested a Mariah Carey cake for her birthday, but instead the cake featured the face of Nobel Prize winner Marie Curie.

Another woman said her mother ordered her a cake that was supposed to be decorated with the popular Disney character Moana.

In a laughable mix-up, she received a cake with a picture of a cannabis leaf.

“Well needless to say these people thought she said marijuana,” the birthday girl wrote.
