The NRL world has gone wild over State of Origin icon Wally Lewis' crazy reaction to the Maroons scoring two tries with 12 men in a clip that has gone bonkers. Queensland came back from what appeared to be a dire situation to defeat the Blues 26-18 in Adelaide after two late tries when the chips were down.

The Blues dominated the first half but were disjointed and clunky and couldn't capitalise on field position or possession. And after a dubious sin-bin against Thomas Flegler, it appeared the Blues would carry the momentum to the final whistle.

But tries to Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and Cameron Munster when Queensland were down a man showcased their never-give-up attitude. And it was in these two historic moments that sent the normally mild and calm Lewis into rapture.

Commentating on Triple M, alongside popular Fox Sports commentator Dane Ginnane, Lewis was watching on as the Maroons stunned their fans. Ginnane yelled out 'The Hammer, the Hammer's away', as Tabuai-Fidow danced past James Tedesco, which resulted in Lewis jumping off his seat.

When The Hammer scored, Lewis was seen in the background fist-pumping and celebrating. But the action wasn't over.

“This is another unbelievable State of Origin finish,” Ginnane said after Munster's try. “This is one of the great nights in Queensland Origin history. How on earth have they won this game?”

Lewis was out of his seat in jubilation like the rest of Queensland after the Maroons pulled off what was unthinkable at one point to take a 1-0 lead back home. The video has more than 50,000 likes and is approaching 500,000 plays on Triple M's Tik Tok.

Lewis praised Munster after the play for the 'adventurous' move. “Cameron Munster going to the left side and this is a finish. Boy, they only write this stuff, they make them up," he said on air.

"Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, the speed on him. A right handed palm to get rid of the cover defence coming through.”

Lewis then praised forward Lindsay Collins after he leap over Tedesco to seal the win in Adelaide. “Wow. What a jump from Collins,” he said.

“He’ll be bragging it’s probably the only time he’s jumped for a high ball in his career. But hasn’t he been rewarded." NRL fans were ecstatic at Lewis' reaction, but also at Ginnane's excellent commentary.

"Dane Ginnane is the best commentator in the game and no one can change my mind," one fan wrote. "Pure gold commentary," another fan wrote to the duos reaction.

One fan acknowledged Lewis writing: "The King." "Wally you legend," another fan wrote.

Andrew Johns blasts New South Wales attack

Folliwing the match, fellow NRL Immortal Andrew Johns was in the opposite mood of Lewis after wathcing the Blues fail again. Nathan Cleary was underwhelming, while captain Tedesco has come under fire for a nightmare performance in Game I.

While not singling out any individual players, Johns blasted the Blues attack after a clunky display. "The attack was terrible. They had so much momentum and they had so much possession," Johns said on Channel Nine.

"With all that field position, momentum and possession you have to score...but you just have to be better. New South Wales were really poor. Really poor."
