Dine and dash duo alleged 'serial offenders'

A couple accused of doing a dine and dash on a $248 bill at a Perth restaurant are believed to be serial offenders, according to police.

Elmar’s in the Valley, in Henley Brook, took the extraordinary step of posting images of a couple on Facebook, claiming the couple left without paying for a three-course meal on Saturday.

Restaurant supervisor Klarke Macgill said staff searched for the couple “everywhere” before realising “they’d dined and dashed”.

Now, WA Police believe the pair has allegedly struck more than a dozen restaurants across Perth, from Fremantle to the Swan Valley.

A dozen restaurants and hotels have come forward claiming they are victims too.

CCTV footage from The Royal on the Waterfront in East Perth shows the duo 48 hours before they appeared at Elmar’s.

The Royal’s Anoop Nair claims the pair racked up a $240 tab and “literally ran away”.

“I would hope they get caught,” he said.

Staff at 3Sheets in Hillarys claims the couple has run out on them twice.

It appears they also order the same thing every time: entrees, main meals, desserts, cocktails and wine.
