Commonwealth Games boxer banned from Gold Coast drinking districts

A member of the Northern Ireland Commonwealth Games boxing team has been banned from Surfers Paradise after an alleged fight with security at a nightclub.

For the next two weeks, Sean McComb, who is the team captain, won’t be allowed in the Surfers Paradise or Broad Beach precincts.

The 25-year-old was out at Sin City nightclub on Monday night after he was knocked out of the tournament on Sunday.

It’s alleged he walked away before later returning and attempting to fight the bouncers, who held him down and waited for police to arrive.

The young boxer has also been given a ticket for being a public nuisance.

Games Officials did not make comment to 7 News, saying it was a matter for police.
