Rescue dog brutally mauled in front of crying kindergarten kids
A rescue dog has been left with terrible injuries after it was mauled by two other dogs - just metres from a primary school.
Lorraine Bryant was walking her blue Staffordshire, blue heeler cross, named Tyson, in north Perth about 11.30am on Monday when out of nowhere, two dogs attacked.
“One was at the top around his neck and his mouth and the other one was at his legs and inside his groin,” Ms Bryant recalled the chaos to 7 News.
“They were just biting, biting, biting and they wouldn't leave him alone.”
The owner of the two dogs was nowhere to be seen as they continued their attack for five minutes, as a helpless Ms Bryant watched on in horror.
Dozens of kindergarten children, aged just four and five, watched the attack unfold, leaving many of them in tears.
It wasn’t until a teacher witnessed what was happening and jumped the school fence that the dogs were broken up.
“If I hadn't been here and they'd gone further down, they can get onto the school oval there, I don't know what they could've been capable of,” Ms Bryant added.
As Tyson recovers from emergency surgery, Ms Bryant said she just wants the dog’s owner held accountable.
Rangers won't confirm if the dogs responsible have been seized.
