Decomposing body found at Perth home may have been there for 'several weeks'

The badly decomposed body of a man has been found at a home in Western Australia.

Seven News understands WA Police went to the Mandurah home on Wednesday morning after a call from a concerned neighbour.

Police found the man’s badly decomposed body inside the house.

It’s understood the man could have been there for several weeks and his partner may have been living in the home during this period.

She has been questioned as to why she had not reported the death, but she is not a suspect.

Forensic police wearing coveralls and high boots spent the day examining the house as detectives spoke to neighbours to try to piece together the man's last movements.

A forensic pathologist examined the remains, but couldn't give a time of death because of the recent heat.

The death is not considered suspicious, but the homicide squad attended the home earlier in the day, assisting local police.

An autopsy will determine how and when the man died.
